Trump Threatens To End Trade With U.K., Canada, Germany, France – Gets Into Wild Exchange (VIDEO)

President Donald Trump threatened to end all trade with countries at the G7 summit meeting if they didn’t stop what he said were “unfair trade practices,” according to the New York Times.

That would essentially end trading from the United States with the world’s six leading economies, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Italy, France and Japan if he didn’t get his way of tariffs. Trump wants “tariff-free, barrier-free trade.”

Keep in mind: Trump was the one who implemented tariffs on aluminum and steel imports into the United States, sparking off controversy around the world about a trade war.

While nobody would take such a threat seriously, he still brought it up.

It’s going to stop. Or we’ll stop trading with them. And that’s a very profitable answer, if we have to do it,” Mr. Trump said, adding that “We’re like the piggy bank that everybody’s robbing and that ends.”

He re-mentioned it in a tumultuous (and quite weird) exchange with a CNN reporter at the end of the meeting.

Trump also stated that he thought his relationship with the leaders of the G7 was a “10 out of 10” meaning at the highest level.

Remember: France, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom have all come publicly condemned Trump on climate change and trade, in particularly.

As far at the meeting went, Trump showed up late for the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council Breakfast. Prime Minister Trudeau started without him.

Because Trump showed up several minutes late, he missed Trudeau’s introductory statement and entered the room while council co-chair Isabelle Hudon, who is Canada’s ambassador to France, was speaking.

According to CTVNews, Trump’s late arrival caused a scene. Security personnel had to open up a path for him as a mob of journalists with large cameras flashed away.

Just before Trump sat down, he flashed a big smile at Trudeau.

We wonder if he did that on purpose to get back at Trudeau for calling him out in the national media just a few days prior?

Some other notable news:

Trump is calling on Russia to be let back into the G7. He says it should be the G8 now.

It would be an asset to have Russia back in … it would be good for Russia. It would be good for the U.S.”

On his upcoming summit with North Korea:

Trump says that he will know “within the first minute” whether or not the North Korea summit is going well. “How?” Trump: “My touch. My feel. That’s what I do.” (via ABC)

Trump is choosing to leave the summit before everyone else because he says he needs to prepare for North Korea. That meeting doesn’t start till Tuesday, a full three days later.
